SouthWest Transit to embark on another development project, fulfilling the plan to establish a Transit Oriented Development at its SouthWest Village site:

The plan for the SouthWest Village site was recently approved by the City of Chanhassen, and is in the final stage of obtaining all necessary approvals. Once completed, the project will include 10,000 sf of co-working office space, a 2,000 sf coffee shop with a drive through, an outside patio, and renovated plaza space.

The project will complete the development site which also includes 37 townhomes,; a 600 stall parking garage, and the SouthWest Village Transit Station.

The development complements SouthWest Transit’s operations by providing its customers, many who previously commuted five-days a week for work, an opportunity to rent space to work remotely in an office setting, something needed as we continue to readjust to the post COVID environment. The site also will include a coffee shop with both indoor and outdoor seating. This not only complements SouthWest Transit’s operation, but provides space for informal meetings and neighborhood interaction.

SouthWest Transit hopes to begin construction on the development later this summer, with an opening scheduled for next spring.
