Throughout 2026, construction on I-494 will affect the 686X and 686L routes, which may result in delays and detours. See active detours and effects below.

Location: Eastbound I-494 ramp to East Bush Lake Road

• Routes Affected: 686L Eastbound (EB)
• Dates: Monday, June 15 - Monday, June 29
• Effect: The 686L will be detoured and riders may experience minor delays.

Location: I-494 between I-35W and Hwy 77

• Routes Affected: 686X Eastbound (EB) and Westbound (WB)
• Dates/Times:
• EB: 10:00 PM Tuesday, June 23 to 5:00 AM Wednesday, June 24
• WB: 10:00 PM Wednesday, June 24 to 5:00 AM Thursday, June 25
• Effect: The 686X will be detoured and riders may experience minor delays.

Location: American Blvd & Lyndale Ave S

• Routes Affected: 686L Westbound (WB)
• Dates: Monday, July 6 - Monday, July 20
• Effect: The 686L will be detoured and riders may experience delays.

A stop change is in effect for 686L Eastbound beginning June 2, 2026 and will remain in place until further notice.

686L WB and 686X WB Service Alert: Delays and Detours | 5/11/26-11/6/26

Due to the Post Road closure between MSP terminals, detours will be in place from Monday, May 11 through Friday, Nov. 6, 2026. Stops will remain unchanged; however, minor delays can be expected.

698 & 698U Route Service Alert: Expect Delays | Feb 23 - Nov. TBD

The 698 WB & 698U WB will be detoured via I-35W due to the construction closure of the ramp from Linden Ave. to westbound I-394 through November. Delays expected. No stops are impacted.
