Rider Representative Needed for the SouthWest Transit Commission
If you have an interest in public service and transit, you may want to consider becoming a member of the SouthWest Transit Commission.
SouthWest Transit is a public transit agency operating under a Joint Powers Agreement of the three cities of Chaska, Chanhassen and Eden Prairie. Each community is represented through a governing board known as the SouthWest Transit Commission.
The Commission is composed of seven individuals: one elected official and one appointed citizen from each community, all serving three-year terms, and a Rider Representative who is a resident of Chaska, Chanhassen or Eden Prairie, appointed to a three-year term by the Commission. The Rider Representative is a voting member of the Commission which governs the operations and future of SouthWest Transit with actions such as the strategic plan, policy, development, legislative agenda and the operating budget.
The Rider Representative will:
- Participate in monthly Commission meetings held at 6:00 p.m. on the 4th Thursday of each month.
- Represent rider and community transit issues.
